St. Maarten Arts & Crafts Foundation is organizing a grand fundraising Cultural Tea Party and Fashion Show on Sunday, June 11th 2017 in order to raise funds for the 2017 “Smaatn” National Cultural Parade.
The fundraising Cultural Tea Party and Fashion Show will be held at the Rockhouse, Port de Plaisance Sunday, June 11th - 4.00 to 8.00 pm. There will be a Fashion Show with over 20 models displaying Cultural Clothing to be worn in the “Smaatn” National Cultural Parade on St. Maarten Day.
To promote our Culture and Heritage, guests are encouraged to dress in Folkloric wear for this event. Prizes will be given - categories Best Cultural Wea; Best Dressed Couple in Cultural Wear; Most Creative Head Wear etc.
Hostess will be Rosa Richardson who promises an afternoon of laughter and fun. Snacks: cakes, bush tea, drinks served are included in the price.
Other local goodies such as tarts and sweet potato pudding can be purchased for a small fee.
The “Smaatn” National Cultural Parade was held for the first time on November 11th 2015. The Parade was an instant hit as it carried over 60 groups displaying Folkloric wear and Symbols of the island.
“Smaatn” National Cultural Parade on St. Maarten Day will be coordinated by Mr. Urmain (Youmay) Dormoy.
Entrance Fee: Adults $ 25.00 / Naf 45.00
Children up to 12 years $10.00 / Naf 18.00
