New Pub : JabJab Floating Bar

30 May 2017

Would you like an amazing experience enjoying a drink while watching the sun go down, on board a boat anchored in a beautiful bay?

JabJab is the new floating bar anchored offshore in Simpson Bay. You can swim out to the boat, or take a barge pick-up from the police dock –you won’t wet your toes and from Simpson Bay beach - yes, you get your toes wet! The barge putts you to the boat where you will be warmly welcomed by one of the delightful crew; they are brothers Daniel and Stefan and Kristen.
The two brothers actually grew up on this old-timer back in Florida. She is a Sparkman & Steven’s design, built in Holland for a Duke many years ago. Their dad decided to sell; they bought it with an idea in mind.
Both brothers sail a lot. Stefan fell in love with St. Maarten each time he returned here. Putting a good idea, a great boat together with the backing of his brother, the long and the short of it is there is now a great floating bar in Simpson bay for everyone to enjoy.
Third crew member Kristen, worked as stew aboard mega yachts. She originally sailed into St. Maarten in 2004. The island she fell in love with welcomed her back every year since then. About two years ago Kristen, working on board a yacht in Barcelona, by chance met Stefan; they found they had a common interest in the island and St. Maarten, working her magic, brought them together – there-in lies a lover’s tale.
For now JabJab is a bar with snacks but a menu is in the works. This will include burgers, burritos, salads, wraps and finger food available as next season rolls around. With breakfast, lunch and dinner menu there is much to look forward to.
In the meantime JabJab opens Tuesdays– Fridays 3pm to late and weekend’s noon to late.
